concept and cognitive mapping

CONCEPT vs COGNITIVE MAPPING.

The “concept and cognitive mapping” session was really cool. We learnt how to go about designing. There are so many factors to keep in consideration while designing anything. The emotional factor, contextual, experiential, sensorial, intellectual and spiritual are what all we have to inculcate in our design. It has made me more aware of these things to consider.
When we have to think so many words about the product, it makes me think more than what I have already about the product. Its like discovering more things of the product.
The “connecting the words” process is pretty interesting. It also helps you think better about your product.
Finally, the sentence that we make defines the product in a more elaborate way than it would without the mapping.
The whole learning has taught me to think in a different way about a product or anything that we create, Its now more in a process.
The mapping is pretty helpful and seems like a better option than randomly going about things. Also, when we have to understand and give a design solution for something we don’t know well enough, the words give us a path to go about it.
It also helps us when we present our work. Its more neat and expressive. It creates a better impression to the people we present.
That’s what I learnt from the session.
